How do I know if someone needs inpatient depression treatment or mental care?

Inpatient mental health care is recommended for those who are a danger to themselves or others, or who have an addiction. If the mental state of the person has reached a point where they are experiencing suicidal thoughts, harming themselves or others, experiencing major depressive episodes, or experiencing hallucinations or delusions, they should seek help in an inpatient setting. Call us for a free, no-obligation assessment with our admissions staff at our behavioral health treatment center to see if the situation warrants an inpatient treatment program.

Our Treatment Center

Depression Recovery Center

Depression symptoms we may see at our rehab center for depression include changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, concentration, daily behavior, or self-esteem, along with anxiety, apathy, general discontent, hopelessness, mood swings, or sadness. Depression can be associated with thoughts of suicide and can often be a side effect of trauma or PTSD.

In our mental health and depression recovery center, our patients receive the treatment they need to recover from depressive episodes and suicidal thoughts. They also have training on safety planning, meet with psychiatrists to determine possible medication-assisted therapies, and attend therapy sessions that help them cope with their disorder. Our staff ensures that our facility is one of Salt Lake City’s best rehab centers for depression.

Anxiety Recovery Center

Symptoms of anxiety can include excessive unease, irritability, compulsive behavior or panic attacks, hypervigilance, fear, feeling trapped or as if something terrible is coming, restlessness, poor concentration, racing thoughts, trouble sleeping, nausea, palpitations, or trembling.

One of our clients, Robert*, was diagnosed with anxiety after he came to our facility reporting an angry explosion he had at his son for driving too fast on the freeway. He said that he always worries about his family harming themselves, the thoughts running through his mind incessantly, and consuming his day. Through our structured therapy program, Robert was able to get the help he needed.

In our anxiety recovery and behavioral health treatment center, patients will meet with a psychiatrist to determine possible medication-assisted treatments as well as learn strategies and techniques for overcoming their inner critics and controlling their thoughts.

Intensive Outpatient Program

In addition to our inpatient depression treatment services, Salt Lake Behavioral Health also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program in both the morning and evening. In our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), clients can choose from three separate IOP tracks: Mental Health, Trauma, or Addiction Recovery.

General Adult Mental Health Rehabilitation

If you have depression, anxiety, emotional breakdowns, suicidal thoughts, or self-harm ideations or tendencies, the professional staff at our behavioral health treatment center can help you. We also provide trauma-focused therapy and child trauma therapists at our health treatment center.
